Welcome to the Royal Berkshire Hospital. We hope that this guide will provide you
with useful information about your stay with us.
While we want to offer you the best possible healthcare it is equally... more important that
your stay with us is as comfortable as possible.
Each ward has its own routine – our staff will talk to you about the ward that you are
staying on but if you have any questions or concerns please ask. Our nursing staff are
here to support you throughout your stay with us.
It is important to every member of staff that we get things right for our patients and
their families. If you have any comments about what other information patients might
find useful to have in this bedside folder – or other ideas on how we can improve our
service – please do let one of the ward staff know.
When you visit any of our wards or outpatient areas, you will be asked one question
“How likely are you to recommend this area to friends and family if they needed
similar care or treatment?” This is the NHS Friends and Family Test which all NHS
organisations are required to ask of patients. Please spare a few moments of your time
to choose one of the six answer options and to provide any further comments
regarding your patient experience.
You can also fill in a feedback section at the back of the ‘Talk to us’ leaflet – these are
available on the ward or in the Information Zone on Level 1 in the main entrance.
Alternatively, you can share your thoughts with others by leaving feedback on the
NHS Choices website or in one of the comments boxes around the hospital. Your
comments and suggestions are important to us and we do act upon the feedback we
The worst hospital I have ever seen in my life during my wife's labour pain. I took my wife to that hospital at night around 2am because she was having 4-5 contraction in every 10 minutes and delivery... more due date was over as well. After waiting for so long, the lady who checked her said its not labour pain. what a stupid lady...Wanted to send her home although delivery due date is over and we live about 45 minutes away without traffic after requesting she kept her in a room which was out of care where they did not put any monitor and no one came to see her who ever I saw outside I called everyone had an excuse to tell me for not to come. After few hours her water broke i saw the doctor outside and requested her to come, they took her to the emergency for cesarean because they said baby is upside down. It's all happened because of these careless people working there, because of their stupidity.she went through so much pain even during cesarean delivery. Lots of people working there who are not qualified for this job should get kicked out of that place...I spit on that hospitals unqualified staffs....
My daughter Karen Ramsden was admitted to A&E then rushed to ICU.
Unfortunately she didn’t pull through.
Throughout the 3 days she was there, she was treated to the best of care and dignity... more as was her family. 10/10 thank you so much for your care and expertise.
